Terms of Service

By using DigitizeMD, you agree to these Terms of Service. We may update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Orders & Payment

Orders require upfront payment via Stripe Checkout. Pricing is per tape with tiered discounts. Optional add-ons (e.g., USB drives) and delivery/return shipping fees may apply. See our Pricing for details.

Refunds & Cancellations

After Payment but Before Drop-off/Shipment: You may cancel within 24 hours of payment for a full refund (minus any Stripe processing fees, if applicable). After 24 hours, cancellations are subject to a 20% handling fee. Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days back to the original payment method via Stripe.

If your tapes have already been delivered to our PO Box at the time of cancellation, we will refund 80% of the order total and deduct any delivery/return shipping costs required to send your media back. Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.

After Drop-off/Shipment: Once your media is in our possession, refunds apply only to undigitizable items (see “Non-Repair Policy”). Refunds are applied per affected item, not the entire order.

Refund Method: All refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe. Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.

How to Request a Refund: Please email us at pawelsloboda5@gmail.com with your order number and details. We will review your request and confirm eligibility before processing.

Non-Repair Policy

Broken/Damaged Media (Customer Issue): If a tape, disc, or other media arrives with pre-existing damage (e.g., cracked casing, mold, or a broken tape ribbon), we may be unable to process it and we do not perform repairs. We cannot accept liability for damage that occurred before the media reached us. As a goodwill measure, we may offer a partial refund (up to a percentage of the affected items’ price) at our discretion for unusable items that arrived damaged. Any approved partial refund will be stated clearly in your refund confirmation.

Undigitizable Due to Our Technical Limitation (Our Issue): If a tape appears physically fine but we cannot digitize it due to a technical limitation (for example, an unsupported format or equipment compatibility issue), we will refund the full cost of those items.

Partial Order Refunds: If only some items in an order cannot be digitized, refunds are issued per affected item, not for the entire order.

Disc Finalization (DVD / miniDVD)

We do not finalize discs. DVDs and miniDVDs must arrive finalized so that a standard DVD player or computer can read them. If a disc arrives unfinalized, it will be returned unprocessed. For instructions, see our How to Finalize Your DVD/miniDVD guide.

Deliverables

Digital delivery (Google Drive or Dropbox) is included. Optional USB drives may be purchased. If you choose not to have your original tapes returned and you also do not purchase a USB, no delivery fee is charged. We retain tapes for30 days after digitization before disposal, in case you change your mind. Download links remain active for 30 days; please download your files promptly. Shipping

You are responsible for shipping your media to our PO Box or dropping it off locally. Processed tapes and any purchased USBs are shipped back to the address on file; tracking is provided when available. A flat $20 delivery fee applies when we ship back your original tapes or a purchased USB. If you select tape disposal and do not purchase a USB, the delivery fee does not apply. Shipping and delivery fees are otherwise non-refundable.

Liability

We handle all media with care; however, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the order. We are not responsible for pre-existing media defects or for damage incurred during transit to or from our facility.
